Resilient children tend to be more prepared in dealing with unexpected difficulties, now and later in life. Have you ever wondered why your child seems less resilient than others their age?
Low resilience can present itself if many ways. Thinking about your child:
Do they appear negative or pessimistic?
Do they set unrealistic goals for themselves and then feel their incompetence has been validated when they fail?
Do they give up too easily, especially when the going gets tough?
Do they express their frustration and upset forcefully when they can’t get something right?
How well do they handle disappointment?
